Paul's Update - 07/11/06
Dear Friends:
Paul was still pretty tired today but he did a little better than yesterday. Breakfast was challenging. He had trouble eating and couldn't swallow his medicines without chewing them. Although it seems bad to chew them, he was having them crushed and put in his feeding tube when we first started this ... at least he is getting them!! Lunch went a little better. He had a little difficulty but was able to eat. It still took a long time to get done. The occupational therapist came. He was able to get Paul to stand up at the sink by himself. He reached out with his left hand and pulled himself up to a standing position. He didn't stand long but was able to do it. Paul was swallowing better tonight. He had pizza and did pretty good. Tabby spent some time at the hospital today but this time it was with a friend who is sick (whew ... scare you didn't I ... LOL) Dad watched Max while she was gone. Paul watched "Groundhog Day" but he fell asleep toward the end. Tabby ordered a cable box for the TV in Paul's room so he can watch movies on demand! Dad went out to look for a floor exercise peddler so he can work on his leg exercises. No luck ... but he plans to go to yard sales Saturday to hunt for one. It will be another way he can exercise from the wheelchair! We hope he will continue to improve ... and get back to where we were before the seizure very soon! We are so thankful that God continues to hold Paul in His hands!
Love, Lynne & Carl
