Paul's Update - 10/31/06
Dear Friends:
Each day seems to be much the same with more small improvements happening all the time. Paul does a little more with his right hand each day. Today he ate his snack with it. He wanted to use left hand but Tabby encouraged him to use right hand to each cheese crackers and he did well with it. Dad walks Paul to the bathroom several times each day and he still has to help quite a bit but Paul does real well with his steps. It is really his balance that is still a problem. Tonight Bobby had all the Halloween decorations ready to go for the Trick or Treaters. This is a special occasion that Paul & Bobby have always enjoyed together. Paul was able to go outside and enjoy the festivities. It was beautiful (about 60 degrees) and he was able to stay out until about 8:45pm. I think the boys had a good time. I a few pictures from last night. I hope you will be able to enjoy them! Dad took Paul into the house a couple of times to have bathroom breaks. During one of his trips to the bathroom Paul insisted on going into the kitchen area. He walked himself over to the kitchen by himself. Tabby got a new stove yesterday and he wanted to look at it. He wheeled himself over and took a good look at it. He can see the kitchen from his bed so he watched them install it ... and he wanted to inspect it!! It is funny when Tabby is in the kitchen you can see Paul leaning over in his bed to see into the kitchen so he can watch her! Much of the today was low key. When we do drug changes Dad & Tabby try to be careful not to overwork Paul. Dad is staying over tonight in case Paul has any ill affects from the deletion of the Dilantin this morning. Tomorrow morning is the time in which Paul's drugs from this morning will reach their "half life". That is when the drug is at it's lowest therapeutic level. Hopefully the other drugs are at a high enough level to combat any problems.
Have a great day! Lynne & Carl
