Paul's Update - 05/17/06
Dear Friends
The transport came to get Paul at 6:30 this morning. They arrived at the hospital around 7:30am. The pastor came to visit prior to surgery. Paul went in for pre-op around 9am. The surgery was scheduled for 11:30 but the doctor was doing another surgery and didn't get done on time so Paul's surgery didn't start until around 1pm. Everything went well and they took him to post-op around 1:45pm. The transport came to pick him up around 5:30pm ... which put them in rush hour traffic!! The driver (according to Dad) was whipping in and out of the traffic which caused Paul to get sick along the way. Needless to say if he is experiencing double vision and nausea already ... all the motion was going to make him sick!! Once they got back home and back in the bed Paul was exhausted and went right to sleep. He was up a few times but has been mostly sleeping. The doctor prescribed some Percoset for pain and I'm sure that is making him sleep. Dad stayed there to spend the night in case Tabby needs help during the night. Overall things went well and now we will have a couple days of rest for him to recover. The doctor doesn't want any weight bearing for a while which will limit what he is able to do. We are thankful that the surgery was successful and we pray that it will be his last surgery. Thanks for all your prayer ... God continues to heal Paul daily!
Love, Lynne & Carl
