Paul's Update - 07/15/06
Dear Friends:
Dad didn't go over until after 10:30am this morning. When dad arrived Paul and Tabby were sleeping. He decided to go to yard sales today to see if he could find a floor exercise cycle that Paul could sit in his wheelchair and exercise his legs. He wasn't successful but we will keep looking. When Dad came back he got Paul up and dressed. He sat up for a bit to watch some TV. They watched Men in Black. They had started it last night but didn't finish it because Paul fell asleep. He seemed to really enjoy it. Tonight we all went out to dinner. Carolyn's birthday was this week and dinner out is a tradition with us. We all went (including Audrey, the nurse) to Sakura Japanese Steak house. We had a great dinner and even though Paul said he didn't enjoy his food ... he ate almost all of his dinner and drank three ice teas!! He is saying no to almost everything lately. Earlier today Tabby asked Paul if she could have a kiss and he said "no". She asked if he would give her a hug, he said "no". She asked if he loved her, he said "no". Then she asked "does 2+2 equal 4?" and he said "no"! At least he is consistent!! He actually gave her a kiss anyway ... so all was good! Sunday the speech therapist is suppose to come at 9:45am. She is back from her vacation and we are ready for her to be back on the job! We've missed her! This weekend the nursing schedule is a bit mixed up. Usually Dora only works during the week but she will come around 10am on Sunday so that Audrey (the weekend nurse) can go and take her test for certification as a nurse aid. She has been working only on the weekends because she has been going to school during the week. She's a good aid and we pray that she will pass the certification. She will come and work the afternoon & evening after the test. Sunday should be a quiet day of rest!
Have a blessed day! Lynne & Carl
