Paul's Update - 11/06/06

Dear Friends:

Dad arrived this morning with Tea from Starbucks. This is to lower the fat intake for the day since Paul is still needing to lose some weight. When Dad went out this morning to a doctor appointment he came back with Passion Tea for him to drink with lunch. Paul walked in and out of the bathroom several times as usual and they watched movies again today since the cable is still not working. Tabby worked to get Paul to eat most of his lunch with his right hand. She had gotten some artichokes the other day so they sat together and ate them. If you've never eaten a fresh artichoke ... it is an experience! Tabby wasn't feeling well today ... she is coming down with a cold. Max wasn't feeling real good either and has done lots of throwing up. He usually only spits up a little but he does it almost every time he eats ... or within about an hour. Tabby was playing cards this morning and she got Paul to identify the cards by pointing to the ones she wanted him to pick out. He did OK ... some of them he missed ... like the 6 and the 9. Tonight Tabby was looking through the mail and she had gotten a Harriett Carter catalog. She gave it to Paul on his lap desk and he was able to browse through it. He was turning the pages ... ONE AT A TIME!! He was very careful when turning the pages and he was able to identify some of the products by pointing to them when Tabby asked him to. He sat up for almost 45 minutes at the side of the bed while he looked at this magazine. When it was time to go to bed he was able to get his shoes off by himself. It took a lot of encouraging to get him to do it but he finally did. When he was done he pulled himself away from Tabby and got himself back into the bed. It appears that Dad is going to have to steal some time away from Paul a couple of days this week. I have new kitchen cabinets arriving on Wednesday and he will have to prepare the current kitchen to be ready for the installation of the new cabinets. Tabby & Dora will be on the job!

Have a great day! Lynne & Carl
