Paul's Update - 05/29/06
Dear Friends:
Sunday was a great day. Dad got a call from Tabby early. She wanted to take Paul to East Coast Harley Davidson (Paul's work) to see the bikers gather and roll out for Rolling Thunder. This is an annual event where bikers come from all over the country and ride into DC to honor veterans of war. Paul wore his work shirt and all his coworkers were glad to see him. He seemed to enjoy the environment and even smiled quite a bit. After they got home Paul took a nap. He was pretty exhausted. Tabby's parents came to visit. They had planned to go out to eat at Sakura Japanese Steak house in Fair Lakes to celebrate Mom's birthday. We took Paul's van. Tabby pulled the van next to the curb in front of the house with the hope that it would put Paul up high enough to reach the seat. Unfortunately the van sits up higher than Dad's truck (Paul can get in Dad's truck this way). Dad asked Paul if he could put his foot on the running board. Paul lifted up his left foot and helped Dad hoist him up into the van!! WOW! It is amazing what he can do sometimes! Dinner was good ... Paul ate lots of food. When we got home Paul was able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful day.
Monday was a quiet holiday. Paul wasn't feeling good today. It appears that he may have a urinary track infection and he spent a lot of the day in the bathroom or in bed. Dad got him up for dinner tonight but most of the day he stayed in bed and watched the Sci-Fi channel. Dad is having some trouble moving Paul around. It appears that the new medicines are making Paul drowsy. Hopefully he will get use to them soon and be back to himself again. Tabby is having more braxton hicks contractions. It looks like Max is getting ready to make his appearance very soon. Tuesday is the appointment with the orthopedist. He will take out the staples in Paul's foot.
Have a great day! Love, Lynne & Carl
