Paul's Update - 04/18/07

Dear Friends:

The day started out with Paul heading to the neurologist office to have his blood drawn. While Dad was at the doctor's office he got a call from the hospital therapist. She said that Medicaid would allow Paul to have five visits before the preauthorization is received. Dad was able to arrange for Paul to keep his appointment on Thursday morning. He will be able to do therapy once a week until the preapproval is complete since that could take as much as a month. After Dad got home he started working on the loft in the garage. Jimmy came over to help. It is going to be a pretty large size ... across the back wall of the garage. They were able to do quite a bit of work today and will start again on Thursday after therapy. Paul had a pretty quiet day since Dad was busy in the garage. Tonight Ronda brought dinner over. It is our regular bible study night and she has been fixing dinner for us on bible study night for some time now. What a blessing she is!! It was wonderful and Paul got to enjoy it with us. He sat and listened to our study. When we were done we celebrated Suzann's birthday (even though it was last month!!). As she was leaving she stopped to say "good bye" to Paul and asked him if she could have a hug. I asked Paul "what do we do for a hug?". He raised his arms and said "love". Pretty interesting ... it IS a sign of love ... and he said this without any prompting! He was up late again tonight and when he was in bed Dad gave him the remote for the bed. When I came in to say goodnight he was playing with the remote. He had the massage function on and he was pushing the buttons to raise and lower the head and foot of the bed. I think he was enjoying it! What a great toy!! LOL Dad said he walked pretty good today ... I hope he will do good for Cathy (the therapist) in the morning!

Have a great day! Lynne & Carl
