Paul's Update - 04/13/07

Dear Friends:

Paul woke up feeling much better this morning. At breakfast Dad held up Paul's cereal spoon and said "what's this?" and Paul said "spoon" without any prompting!! He was able to choose which cereal he wanted. He had walked to the table. It was obvious that he was going to have a better day than he'd had most of the week. We were planning to go out for dinner tonight and we asked Paul where he wanted to go. We gave him the choice of Chinese or Logans Steakhouse. It took a little prompting but he finally said "Logans"! Dad worked on speech a bit today. Paul did some walking during the morning but was tired (not QUITE back to normal). He also napped a bit this afternoon. When I got home this evening I asked Paul "what is today?", he thought about it a bit and then said "Wednesday". He wasn't right but he at least tried ... and he did say a day of the week!! I gave him the beginning sound "FRrr" and he said "Friday". Bill & Ronda came over to go out for dinner around 8pm. We headed to Logan's since that was Paul's choice ... Bill really likes Logan's too!! Paul ordered the Salmon and a salad. He ate most of it but we had leftovers to bring home. During Dinner Bill was telling some jokes that he had posted on his blogsite and after telling several he told one that Paul actually smiled about. It was so nice to see him find something funny. When we got home Paul wanted to stay up ... it was almost 11pm. He sat in the recliner for a little while but he started falling asleep shortly after and Dad got him ready for bed. He'd had a pretty good day!
